"MHL student Paula Breland won first prize with her trio "Klangspektrum" at the annual Val Tidone International Music Competition in Italy.
The trio with the 24-year-old and her trio partners Jennifer Aßmus (violoncello, Detmold) and Anna-Katharina Schau (accordion, Hanover), convinced the jury with contemporary works by Sebastian Fagerlund and Friedrich Goldmann. Breland has been studying in the Master's programme in the class of Prof. Jens Thoben at the MHL since 2020.
The next opportunity to hear "Klangspektrum" is on 18 October: then the three young musicians will play at the opening of the 47th Festival for New Music Lüneburg at theGlockenhaus Lüneburg."
