“In terms of sound, clarinet and accordion form an ideal pair with many similarities and contrasts. The clarinetist Paula Breland and the accordionist Anna-Katharina Schau have recognized this. They came together to form the “Duo Amabile” and had works composed specifically for their line-up. Their basic themes were upheaval and new beginnings, which can now be heard on the CD “Metamorphosis”. Previously, the musicians had already gained experience with new music together in the trio Klangspektrum.”
